What is an agent?
A person licensed to sell insurance products. He or she may be a captive agent authorized to sell a single carrier’s products or an independent agent authorized to sell multiple carriers’ products. These professionals must be licensed in the state(s) in which they want to sell insurance products. Also referred to as “brokers.”
